May Update

Image
We're officially moved into our apartment in South Jordan, we went on a cruise the first week of May, and now we've just been settling into a summer routine. Oh, summer. I am a very antsy person so I usually get bored of summer about 3 weeks in... but I'm trying to enjoy the relaxation of it all because I'm sure that once I start student teaching I'll be dying for a break. Anyway, this summer I'm actually working from home for the job I had in Logan with The Lawn Doctor. I basically sit on my couch all day and answer phone calls. (Living the dream haha) However, when it's slow (which is fairly often), I have quite a bit of free time. This free time has been used to keep the house (somewhat) clean, read, watch a lot of YouTube videos ( This  one was very entertaining. Also it made me miss This is Us so much!), and write this blog post haha. So, here are some things I've been doing/thinking lately!  Earlier this week I started reading some teach...

Cruise Life

What better way to kick off summer than going on a cruise?? We went with Tanner's old roommate Ben and his wife Sarah. They are THE BEST. The trip would not have been the same without them. Here's a video if you want to see all of our cool adventures. Tanner made it and he rocks! Below is a more detailed itinerary of our trip, if you're interested! Sunday/Monday-Travel Days: We left Sunday night around 5 to head to the airport. Meanwhile, all of our belongings were just chilling in a trailer at my grandparents house haha. Thankfully no one stole them. We had a long night of traveling but thanks to Riverdale + Podcasts + trying (key word here) to sleep, we finally made it to Orlando in the morning. We headed straight to Ben and Sarah's hotel (they had already been at Disneyworld for 2 days those lucky ducks) and took a nap so we could somewhat function that day. Then, we drove to Tampa, got some Jimmy Johns, and got onto the boat! That night we just hung arou...

Logan ---> South Jordan

Image
We are officially South Jordan residents! This move was a really tough one for me to swallow. It wasn't necessarily the place that I was sad about leaving. (Although I do love Logan... and I'm seriously missing $2 Thursday mini golf!) My sadness was mostly stemming from all of the change that this move signifies. (We went to Cafe Sabor on our last night in Logan. Because how can you not?) (Tanner's attire while cleaning our apartment to move out of. I think he was a little ready for our cruise?)   I am no longer a college student. I love college. I love the routine of going to class every day, constantly learning new things, being in contact with amazing, smart people every day, going to basketball games, not really having any real responsibility. And now that's pretty much over. I still have student teaching in the fall, so I'm still technically an Aggie, but it still feels like a big step into the real world of waking up early and hav...

An Ode To My Logan Years

Image
I still have student teaching left in the fall before I graduate, but my time here in Logan at Utah State is quickly coming to an end. We are moving to South Jordan next Saturday (!!!) and I am feeling all sorts of bittersweet feelings. In my mind I understand that this will be good for us. I am SO excited to start teaching and there are a lot more schools to choose from outside of Cache Valley. There is also SO MUCH opportunity for Tanner down there. And we'll be closer to family. But it doesn't make it any easier to leave behind this place that is such a big part of me. The years that I spent here literally changed my life. They made me a smarter, kinder person with even smarter and kinder friends. And most of all, the smartest and kindest husband. They really have been the best four years of my life. So here’s to my college years… I will miss you so so so so so much.   (This is me freshman year moving out of my dorm. Look at me, I was such a little baby!) ...
