CRUISIN'

We decided to end summer with a CRUISE. Tanner is always talking about how great cruises are and I've never been on one so off we went. (To the cheapest one of course).

We left on Friday and stayed at Tanner's cousin Ashlee's house in St. George. (They are the best for letting us stay with them.) On Saturday we did a little (like less than a mile) hiking in Snow Canyon (it was really hot, ok?) and ate some Chick Fil A and had dutch oven dinners and a fire with s'mores that night.

(Just set up the self timer and yell "KISS ME" and you'll get this picture that makes you look so in love.)

Jenny's Canyon- a really short hike but it's so pretty and fun! (Also shaded.)

This is Ashlee and Jordan's dog Piper and look how much Tanner loves it. I loved it too until it jumped on me while I was sleeping and shed all over my clothes. I still need some convincing that we'll ever own a dog.

On Sunday morning we left bright and early to drive to Long Beach and get on the cruise ship. It was a day of waiting in many long lines. But we finally made it on the ship, took a nap, learned about what to do if the ship sinks, and had a fancy dinner. (That's the best part about a cruise. You can order whatever you want and however much you want. And dessert. And you've already paid for it. It's awesome.)

They also had a game room and we played Battleship (so fitting, am I right?)

CATALINA ISLAND

Monday we stopped at Catalina Island! It was so fun. We rented bikes and rode them all over the city and up the mountain (It was a nice workout. The older couple behind us kicked butt.) It was so fun though! I've been wanting to go on a bike ride forever! And we got to see the ocean but didn't have to swim in it! Woohoo! And we saw these big orange fish and we rode to an old casino/theater and watched people snorkel and ate some tacos and walked around the shops (Tempted to buy flip flops with fake grass on them but resisted;)

(There's our cruise ship in the back!)

This is a terrible picture but I liked all of the colors of the buildings.

The old casino/theater.

That night we had to dress up all fancy for dinner and we went and watched some shows (as we did every night.) They have comedy shows (some are much better than others), music shows (Epic Rock was a lot better than Divas), and game shows.

I call this picture "Art".

ENSENADA

The next day (Tuesday) we stopped in Ensenada, Mexico. First we walked around trying to find a way to get cash. We went into a pharmacy and the guy there was like "You two are Mormon newlyweds aren't you." haha and it turns out he was a Mormon too. He's like "If you ever need anything, you're safe here with me." Like... Should we be worried? Are we not normally going to be safe? haha

Then we decided to rend a car because all the taxi drivers were charging ridiculous amounts to take us anywhere and a car was just $45 for the whole day. (If you ever go to Ensenada, seriously just rent a car. It makes your life so much easier you can go anywhere you want, it's cheap, and the people there were so nice and could all speak English haha)

So we drove to La Bufadora (the blowhole)- it's basically just a spot where the water crashes up really high against the rocks. It was cool I guess haha. But we also walked around the shops that were right there and I was wearing my Utah State Shirt and everyone's like "Oh, special price for Aggies" hahaha. And one guy was like "You guys are from Utah!" and Tanner said "Yeah, how did you know?" and he said "I'm a Mexican Mormon!" (Yes, that's 2 Mormons we met in Ensenada in one day. What are the odds.) So he's showing us his stuff and I just know I'm not going to be able to say no because I'd feel too bad. He was showing me his rings and they were really cute but I didn't really want one but at the same time what if his family needs the money and he had a Book of Mormon on his table and I just couldn't say no so now I have a new purple ring haha and hopefully his family had some good tacos that night with our massive $10 we gave him. You've gotta support the members, you know?

Here's how most of our attempts at getting a picture with the Ensenada sign went.

But look at this miracle that we got. Thanks to the family taking our picture for telling everyone to get out of the way.

Here we are eating tacos looking out over the ocean. This is the life.

Next we drove over to the beach, it's nice because it wasn't too crowded.

I've really got some awesome dance moves.

Then we went to Mexican Walmart (just because haha) and turns out it's a lot like American Walmart just in Spanish. And they sell motorcycles there. But not TVs. And we walked around some stores and looked at the movie theater (movies are only $3 there!!!)

The last day was just a day at sea and I definitely could tell that we were at sea because I felt like I wanted to puke all morning. (I was fine the rest of the trip but for some reason this day was bad.) So we just hung out and watched some TV and went to dinner and a show that night. It ended up being a good day- because I got to spend it with Tanner. (awwe. haha)

How I wanted to feel about being on the water.

How I really felt about being on the water.

And of course we ended the night how every good day should end... Ice cream.

On Thursday we drove to Lehi so we could get to Logan on Friday morning and start moving to our new apartment. (Yay for a new place, we love it! But being back home and actually having responsibilities is not fun.)

It was my favorite trip that we've been on so far. It's so nice having all of your meals taken care of and having activities planned out for you. It was relaxing and fun and I am just the luckiest to get to hang out with Tanner all the time.

See you soon, cruise life. You are the bomb.
